Beginner’s Guitar!

If you check the Beginner Guitar Videos tab above, you’ll find the eight beginner guitar “classes” that you can try out while you’re sitting at home, bored out of your mind in self isolation. These will remain up long after this virus has gone its way, but please pass the link along to anyone you think might be interested. The videos are also up on my YouTube channel.

We’re all in this together!

  1. Hello Irene, as we all can agree, this year has been that of stress, fear of the unknown and isolation from family and loved ones. Due to the “Lock Downs” I was in search of a hobby but not wanting to spend a lot of money in supplies and equipment. I have no background with music nor know how to read music. I am in my early 60’s and have just picked up an acoustic guitar in September of this year for the first time. When I viewed your YouTube video, I was ecstatic. Your approach in teaching is exactly what I need. Your intro to notes and graduating them into cords slowly and incorporating that into a song is perfect. And I am very familiar with your song choses, songs I thought I’d never be able to play. I am almost finished the Beginner’s Class Level 1 and am looking forward to starting Level 2.

    1. Dear Cathy, what a lovely comment! Thank you so much for connecting, and I’m very happy that you’ve gotten something out of these videos. I plan to keep them up for the foreseeable future and perhaps add to them at some point when I have more time!
I hope you stay safe too, and that you continue to enjoy playing. That’s what it’s all about!
      Happy New Year!

  2. These beginner guitar videos are a great way to pass the time and learn something new while stuck at home! I love how they’re available for anyone to try, and it’s awesome that they’re also on YouTube for easy access. It’s important to remember that having the best guitar parts can really enhance your learning experience, making these lessons even more enjoyable. I’m definitely going to check them out and share the link with a few friends who’ve been wanting to learn guitar!
